Share Paper: Methods Students and Student Teachers Working Together on Social Studies Scavenger Hunts

Abstract: Student teachers in an undergraduate elementary education program volunteered to allow social studies methods students to create web-based scavenger hunts to use with their students. The student teachers chose the content, in conjunction with their cooperating teacher, and relayed that information to the methods students. The methods students then created web-based scavenger hunts for elementary students to use during social studies class. This partnership provided the methods students with a practical application of a course assignment and the student teachers with assistance with one lesson during the busy student teaching semester.
