Abstract: The use of handheld computers in the learning environment is not new to the field of education. The proliferation of handheld applications created solely for the purpose of learning is new and is rapidly expanding thanks to the introduction of the iPod touch into schools. The proposed poster session shares some of these applications and expresses their usefulness within the classroom. Furthermore, the goal of the session is to engage the audience in a discussion of the tools and further develop purpose for their use and determine designs for research on instructional activities and student growth that may come from such use.
