Share Paper: Developing Successful and Sustainable Programs for Technology-Based Learning
Abstract: To prepare students to compete in a global marketplace, schools must offer a curriculum that reflects current technologies and a globalized world. Unfortunately, the Acceptable Use Policies (AUPs) used to guide technology use in most school districts appear to remain relatively static, with changes being made only in reaction to problems that arise related to new emerging technologies. Simply put, AUPs tend to be reactionary rather than visionary. This paper will discuss the factors that promote successful development of sustainable, systemic programs for integrating relevant technologies in the classroom.
