Abstract: Students beginning a distance education course need to know where to begin. What will they read first? Will it be the syllabus or will they read the syllabus at all? Will key material and assignments be missed due to misdirection or no direction? Establishing consistent content and introducing students to that content effectively is the heart of this session.
