Abstract: This study explores the use of blogging for educational purposes. Blogging is a digital learning environment educators can easily facilitate to engage, motivate, and promote higher order thinking skills for student learning. Digital tools surround our daily lives and it is important for teachers to implement these tools in the classroom. Research suggests that students are inspired to take risks in a digital learning environment by posting insightful and reflective assignments such as: chapter reflections, discussions, video reflections, multi-media projects and their own creative pieces.
