Advancements in Teaching Mathematical Reasoning and Proof

Abstract: This exploratory work offers insight gained from classroom practices that model the role of technology in the development and advancement of mathematical reasoning and proof in secondary mathematics classrooms. Examples of how dynamic geometry software and computer algebraic system technology can be used to augment the content and delivery of mathematical reasoning and proof practices will be shared. Such practices lead to students’ engagement in advanced mathematical thinking and skills.
