Abstract: Team-based learning (TBL) is an instructional strategy that makes intensive use of small groups. It is meant to take advantage of the specific capabilities of high-performance learning teams, and can allow teams to solve problems that are beyond the capability of even the most capable individual member. TBL is effective in courses that contain significant amounts of content whose mastery requires application instead of recall.
