Abstract: This paper examines efforts to transform a suburban school district in Louisiana with 21st Century systems. Using qualitative and quantitative methods, researchers documented the experiences of leaders, technology staff, teachers, students, and parents who were instrumental in the implementation of the project. The district embraced 21st Century best practices, including leadership and vision, a culture of collaboration, an adapted reform process, new approaches to teaching and learning, and high-quality infrastructure and technology. As a result, there were increases in administrators’ use of technology, teachers’ use and integration of technology, students’ engagement and academic achievement, and community and parental involvement. In addition, researchers identified lessons learned from this initiative to inform the design of a model for 21st Century education systems.
