Abstract: The presentation will detail one university’s efforts to develop gifted education learning activities for pre-service teachers using simSchool, a computerized classroom simulator available online. In past research, undergraduate students expressed frustration when attempting to teach gifted simStudents and demonstrated fewer gains in teaching skills than graduate students, presumably because undergraduates lacked understanding of the needs of gifted learners. Simulation activities and evaluation processes have been recently modified in order to better understand the implications of these findings.
