Wednesday, March 9 6:30 PM-8:00 PM Location: Hermitage C
Abstract: For over ten years, graduate students in education have edited and run an online journal exploring the relationships between and among teachers, students, and educational technologies. Inspired by one professor’s vision, this graduate student led and driven journal features research findings, practitioner articles, commentary, and book excerpts by educational researchers, technology designers, K-12 teachers, and authors who wish to share and expand teaching and learning experiences with information and computer technologies in middle school classrooms and beyond. In this critical juncture in education, this journal stands to cover the ways that educational technologies impact the lives of teachers and their students. These new technologies must be intentionally and effectively leveraged if future generations of K-12 students are going to be appropriately prepared for success in the 21st century.
