Abstract: State-led K-12 virtual schools provide students access to online educational opportunities and serve the nation’s educational agenda by providing an additional option for enacting school choice legislation. Underlying the effectiveness and quality of course options offered by K-12 virtual schools are virtual school teachers. While existing programs effectively support virtual school teacher’s use of general online teaching practices, a current professional development need of virtual school teachers is the differentiation of pedagogic and technological strategies to meet varying content area and curricular goals.
