Abstract: This study documents the experiences of a teacher preparation program that made the transition from a paper portfolio to an electronic portfolio as a tool for teacher candidate assessment. Beginning with the pilot phase of the project, survey data was gathered from both teacher candidates and portfolio reviewers about the usability of the electronic format and their satisfaction with the process. This paper will describe how feedback and recommendations from candidate users and reviewers have been utilized to assist in guiding revisions to the template and the evaluation rubric, and to enhance the overall process for e-portfolio development. The study provides our institution with an emerging body of evidence regarding the use of e-portfolios for teacher candidate assessment.
