Abstract: Online asynchronous discussions are key components to online courses. The purpose of this paper or study is to identify in literature the key factors that influence productive online discussions, productive online discussions will be defined, and an analysis of an online discussion based on findings in literature will be evaluated. This will be the goal of a graduate education course which will be conducting the literature review and reporting on the literature in an online setting through the use of online discussion tools.
