Friday, March 11 2:45 PM-3:05 PM
This presentation will feature a study that sought to examine two specific components of virtual teacher skill development and did so with the struggling learner in mind. First, this study sought to better understand the perceived skill set needed by current virtual teachers in a K-8 teaching environment. Second, this study sought to examine whether virtual teacher perceptions altered based on a whether they served as a virtual general or special education teacher. Do special education virtual teachers believe their skill sets are unique to the special population served and if so, what are the unique skills that separate themselves form their general education peers? This presentation will offer the design and report findings of this study.
