Abstract: Internet video is rapidly becoming the main mode of communication across the world. Education institutions can benefit tremendously by adopting smart ways of using Internet video. Old media, impacts on our thinking, but we should not perceive the interactive Internet video as linear TV, but rather explore it´s many potentials and rethink the video paradigm. In this article, we identify different Internet video set ups and approaches and discuss their usefulness in relation to objectives and target groups. We like to contribute both to the conceptual understanding of Internet video in educational contexts and to suggest useful designs for teacher practitioners based on our own development of education and technology in this area. Our discussion is focused around a suggested typology of educational videos and different narratives. The categorisations are not mutually exclusive; however we find this structure useful in order to highlight major features and distinctions of Internet video.
