Share Paper: Internet Gaming Addiction: Myth or Global Epidemic?

Abstract: The present research consists of a current literature review in the domain of Internet and video console gaming and its potentially addictive patterns of usage. Two highly-quantitative studies; one study containing a blend of qualitative and quantitative analysis; one highly qualitative study; and one practical applications paper are highlighted and used to illustrate the current state of the debate over Internet addiction. The five papers are from varied international sources, including Finland, Sweden, China, the UK, and North America. The assertions of these articles are featured and questions are raised regarding their findings.
