Abstract: With the availability and ease that digital recording has provided, clinical supervision of teachers has moved to video-based observation in increasing numbers. When purposefully and strategically integrated into supervision, examination of their own video can be instrumental in facilitating teacher development. The presenter will share results of a comparative study, using conversation analysis, to compare post-observation conferencing when video vs. memory-based, traditional conferencing. Results indicate significant advantages to the video-based self-observation as a precursor to a post-observation conversation.
