Abstract: This poster presentation and demonstration centers on a project in which undergraduate students are introduced to the use of digital narratives to explore their own social and cultural identity development. The author/instructor who developed these assignments did so in collaboration with the Head of Special Collections at the Iowa State University Library and the students are recipients of the George Washington Carver Scholarship and thus members of the Carver academy. The Academy’s University Studies course objectives involve social and cultural identity development, critical explorations of histories of oppressed and underserved groups, and appreciation and acceptance of difference.
