Using a Technology Integration Curriculum Framework for Evaluation of a Doctoral Instructional Technology Program

Abstract: A synthesis of a technology integration curricular framework, focusing on constructivism and social knowledge construction, is applied in the evaluation of a doctoral curriculum in Instructional Technology in the College of Education at a public university in the U.S. The study aims to investigate whether and to what extent the principles underlying the technology integration framework are reflected in the explicit and enacted curriculum. In doing so, the study outlines an approach and procedures for conducting similar evaluations at other institutions.
