Share Paper: Multiple Uses of Google Earth in the Secondary Science Classroom

Abstract: In fall 2010, an independent study was initiated on the use of Google Earth in a secondary science classroom in North Carolina. Initial findings revealed the advantages for students and educators of using the Google Earth platform alongside a variety of existing geospatial web-based resources. The roundtable presentation will demonstrate and discuss ways in which the flexible and expandable platform of Google Earth will allow students to achieve learning objectives in the earth and environmental sciences and other disciplines.
