Roundtable ID: 33315
  1. Terry Erdle
    CompTIA

Abstract: Study after study – including the latest research by the Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA) – confirms one of the greatest challenges facing the public and private workforces: IT Security Breaches. CompTIA’s “8th Annual IT Security in the Workforce” study found 63% of organizations responding to the survey experienced at least one security incident or breach during the previous year. The research also found human error was the perceived cause for 59% of all security incidents. Terry Erdle, CompTIA’s Senior Vice President, Skills Certification will lead a lively discussion of the causes of IT security breaches, the costs and the best educational cures, including certifications and other programs designed to help educators increase the security savvy of today’s workforce from the classroom to the workplace.
