Abstract: The purpose of this study is to understand how we can design professional development that is appropriate and effective for different teachers in different contexts. As part of this question, we hope to identify variables that are constant across both types of professional development (face-to-face or on-line) as well as variables that are indicative of effective professional development for either face-to-face or on-line.In addition, we are interested in examining how the content of professional development sessions impacts how the sessions need to be structured.
