Abstract: The economic crisis of the last few years is an opportunity to start again; to do a reset. The past hasn’t worked and isn’t going to work; it’s time to reset the system, it’s time to start again. We need to truly dump the instructionalist/didactic model of education where teachers talk at the kids and kids do endless worksheets. Throwing electronic whiteboards (EWBs), digital textbooks and even a cart or two of iPads into the classroom is not going to fix the situation; that is simply more of the same.
