Share Paper: Integrating Digital Technologies in Preservice English Education

Abstract: This paper and presentation will discuss teacher research and demonstrate products arising from attempts to introduce undergraduate education classes to digital technologies for teaching and learning. Topics included in the presentation will be: classroom inquiry, ethics issues, students’ participation, digital technologies used for teaching and learning, and research themes emerging from the data archived from Edmodo, a social networking site set up to support learning in Education 4354 Teaching Writing [and Representing] in Intermediate and Secondary Classrooms (Intersession 2011). The paper will conclude with thoughts on disrupting preservice teachers’ conceptions of teaching.
