Abstract: This article aims to demonstrate that social networking in school is a powerful resource to promote international educational exchanges and a powerful mechanism for the development of key competences such as: communication in the mother tongue and communication in a foreign language, digital competence, learning-to-learn, interpersonal civic competences and cultural expression. Social networks should be part of the programming of the schools and have to integrate teachers, subjects and students in a large network open to the community and individuals of other cultures and countries.
