Abstract: This paper is an introduction to creating and using time-lapse videos in an educational setting. Time-lapse videos can condense time to make the invisible visible and illustrate ways in which our world changes around us. Many academic fields from geography, engineering, medical, geometry, geology, and others have used time-lapse in order to show difficult concepts or enhance instruction. Time-lapse videos can be easily and inexpensively created by teachers and students in the classroom though the use of point and shoot cameras, online webcams, and free or open source software.
