Abstract: Open University of China (OUC) is named from the China Central Radio and TV University (CCRTVU). China's educational television system began in 1960 but was suspended during the Cultural Revolution in 1966. In 1979 the China Central Radio and Television University was established in Beijing with branches in twenty-eight provincial-level universities.
