Investigating literacies in prospective elementary teachers utilizing Web 2.0 technologies

Abstract: This session will explore how to incorporate web 2.0 technologies to increase various literacies (digital, visual, and reading) through course assignments and exercises in undergraduate, elementary methods course. Specific attention will be given to how such technologies augment and enhance the efficiency of face-to-face meetings and the amount and quality of time students spend out of class working with assignments. Also, participants will be asked to share their teaching strategies, if any, and to develop possible research questions for incorporating and investigating Web 2.0 technologies.
