Abstract: This virtual poster session will showcase a comprehensive model for examining pre-service elementary teachers’ knowledge of technology for teaching mathematics (Johnston & Moyer-Packenham, 2012). This model, known as the Teachers’ Mathematics and Technology Holistic Framework (or T-MATH Framework), integrates several frameworks, including TPACK, MKT, and technology evaluation criteria. The authors surveyed 144 pre-service elementary teachers across two universities and asked participants to share and rank criteria for evaluating technology tools for mathematical learning, and evaluate four virtual manipulatives. This model, which was used to examine the 144 pre-service teachers in the study, suggests that there are multiple dimensions to understanding teachers’ knowledge of technology for mathematics education. This virtual poster session will engage other mathematics teacher educators in a discussion on this proposed framework and allow attendees to suggest activities which capitalize on pre-service elementary teachers’ knowledge of technology tools.
