Abstract: This presentation exposes technologists and school leaders to the possibility of creating school partnerships. These partnerships can be formed with businesses and the local community college. When creating a partnership with the community college, parents of K-12 students can learn vital skills such as computer basics. These computer basic skills classes can help parents with an understanding of the complexities of a fast paced technological world. Through learning about computer skills parents can prepare themselves for the workforce as well as bridge the digital divide with their children.
