Using Instructional Video, Avatars, Vokis and Cartoons in Online Teaching

Abstract: Instructional videos, Vokis, avatars and cartoon-based characters were made part of regular online communication in a professional development class for teachers. Eighteen participants were asked whether or not these additions improved the regular online communication and how these Web 2 tools could be used in teaching and learning. The results of the teachers’ feedback are discussed.
