Abstract: Results of a project to integrate successful teaching practices using iPads in preservice and inservice mathematics education will be examined at this roundtable session. The project incorporated full-time access to a personally-assigned iPad2 mobile device in two courses designed to improve teachers’ uses of technology to support mathematics learning. One course addressed mathematics teacher candidates and the other practicing elementary teachers who are engaged in a multi-year project to promote mathematics leadership. Both groups found the experience valuable and saw the potential of the iPad for promoting 21st century skills. This session will also explore the management issues regarding the integration of new technology into teaching and learning. The implications of access to technology that allows one to create their own knowledge and understandings will be discussed.

No presider for this session.
