Abstract: This paper will describe a variety of ways that teachers can assess students’ multimedia projects, and in particular, digital storytelling projects. The framework that we have developed has three main categories: assessment during the design process, assessment during the development process, and assessment after the project is completed, and each of these categories is divided into self-assessment by the creator, peer-assessment by other students, and educational assessment by the teacher. The remainder of this proposal includes a brief description of several of these assessment tools. Our full paper will integrate examples of the different tools and describe scenarios in which the tools were used.
