Abstract: Twitter is a microblogging tool that has revolutionized the way individuals communicate with one another throughout society. Its potential as a tool to increase critical thinking is one that has been proven through this on-going informal experiment with pre-service and in-service teachers. Exploring critical theoretical issues in a new practical paradigm of discussion is at the central to being “Twittical.” This session will discuss the experiences of students and professors who enriched their critical discussions in class and out of class through utilizing Twitter as a platform for conversations about critical issues in education. It will highlight the instructional strategies used with Twitter to make learning more critical.
