Abstract: What could educational systems in universities and schools be evolving towards? Using leader interviews and JISC collective scenario building strategies, a whole system wide view of what tertiary education might look like in New Zealand in 2016 was researched and then validated with social networking alongside the production of New Zealand’s Horizon Report. The scenario set is based on two dimensions each of which include two opposing driving forces; standardized versus customized education, facing the academy versus facing employers, professions and communities.
