Abstract: The buzzwords of 21st century teaching and learning include “knowledge building,” “problem solving,” and “collaboration”—which are easy to talk about but much more difficult to implement. To succeed in the connected and dynamic global workplace, today’s students must learn to collaborate so they can leverage the power of multi-skilled teams; direct their own learning so they will not need to rely on step by step instructions; build knowledge for deep understanding that they can apply to new situations; and use ICT as part of their everyday learning activities.
