Share Paper: Teachers’ Awareness and Readiness for Using Mobile Phones as Support and Tutorial tool in Teaching

Abstract: The use of technological devices have emerged as a common tool and effective way of engaging students outside the four walls of the classroom. Prior to embarking on mobile learning, a study is conducted to determine readiness of teachers.The study attempts to determine, among others, the extent of ownership of a mobile phone, readiness and preparedness to use mobile devices to support teaching. The respondents are from 33 Secondary Schools in Ibadan, Nigeria. The findings indicate that 77 percent of the respondents are ready to use mobile devices as support tool for their students.
