Abstract: This roundtable will focus on the use of handheld technology as assistive technology. StoryMaker, an app for creating social narratives and Social Stories, will be presented along with selected research finding on the use of this app in elementary school settings with students with Autism Spectrum Disorders. Tips for effective implementation and lessons learned will be shared. Relevant and timely topics in the field of assistive technology related to the use of handheld technology will be introduced and discussed.
