Abstract: The case study explores the experiences of U.S. and Israeli higher education students participating in this trans-national collaborative learning activity in Second Life. The data was collected during the falls of 2009 - 2011. In the second and third year of the project, two graduate classes, in Texas and Israel, participated in the project. The students from the two countries worked together in virtual teams in Second Life (SL) to design a learning activity that uses the affordances of a 3D virtual environment.
