Abstract: One of the current trends in educational technology is the development of interactive student response system (SRS). The desired SRS-infused learning environment allows teachers to conduct synchronous assessment anytime in the class and offers students easier and more comfortable way to express their understanding. One of the advantages of interactive SRS is that students are able to respond to questions anonymously. Special Ed and EL students usually do not like to draw attention to themselves because of a lack of confidence possibly as a result of their limited language abilities. However, their fears of embarrassment from answering incorrectly will be reduced through their use of interactive SRS. The goal of this study is to leverage an understanding the impact of using interactive SRS to help Special Education and EL students in learning mathematics. The purpose of the study is to examine Special Education and EL student learning outcome.
