Abstract: This paper present the Diamond Age Criteria, which are a set of guidelines to focus the development of education technology. This paper begins by explaining the Diamond Age Criteria and the long term benefits to the field of education technology that may result. In addition this paper explains each of the four area of the Diamond Age Criteria, which include: Connected, Adaptive, Portable, and Personalized. Also, this paper uses examples of currently available technology to show that designing education technology to fit the Diamond Age Criteria is possible with current resources.
