Teenagers Mobile-phone Usage and Text Message
Abstract: The mobile phone has been playing a role in the market for two decades since it was born. Teenagers who have grown up with the technology, their life style, cognitive thinking, attitudes and communication method have been influenced by the technology. This paper is a literature review about teenagers’ mobile-phone usage and how the social impact from those devices reshaped their culture and social activities. It is found that research has been done about the teenagers’ mobile-phone ownership, mobile-phone usage, family economic level, the phone preference, parent control, emotional issue, privacy issue and the social influence made by high rate of text message. Further research needs to be done to predict future trend of this development for a better understanding of the mobile phone usage pattern to protect and guide teenagers for beneficial social reactions.
