Abstract: This four-year, cross-sectional study, situated in one U.S. southwestern university, investigated preservice teachers’ use of social network services (SNS) in teacher preparation and their disposition toward using it in their future teaching. Using survey methods, we share descriptive statistics that reveal preservice teachers increasingly used SNS until 2012 when it decreases slightly. SNS was used more for consumption of than sharing/generating information. The likelihood preservice teachers would use SNS in their future teaching became less likely over time, which may correspond with their high concerns, lack of use, or lack of educative examples of use.
