Views of Teacher Candidates on Practicability of Flipped Classroom Model in Public Schools
Abstract: The purpose of this research is to enhance awareness of Flipped Classroom Model and determine the views of teacher candidates on practicability of this model in Turkish public schools. The participants were 49 teacher candidates who took the Special Teaching Methods course. An open-ended question was asked via an online learning management system by using written interview technique in order to determine the teacher candidates’ opinions in detail. For the analysis of the research data, inductive analyzes were used. Findings indicated that while 8 students gave an overview about whole system of public schools, 41 students gave views by dividing the system as primary, secondary, high schools and universities. As a result, while %55 of teacher candidates emphasize the flipped classroom model can be practicable in primary school, the percentage of belief in practicability of the model increase %71 in secondary school, %85 in high school and %97 in universities.
