Abstract: Access to computers and technology in the classroom does not guarantee teachers will be able or willing to incorporate technology into instruction. Other barriers to incorporation, inherent in the technology itself, may exist. Some of these barriers are incompatibility between operating system and applications, tools that do not meet teacher or student need and tools that are difficult or time consuming to use. This paper is a report on an ongoing research project to investigate the impact cloud computing technology, specifically virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI), has on mitigating these technical barriers. This study examines the perceptions of a group of special education teachers regarding ease of incorporating technology into instruction. A pre and post survey consisting of Likert scale and short response questions is used to measure teacher perception of ease of incorporating technology into instruction both before and after virtual desktop infrastructure is made available a
