Abstract: Personalized learning software is designed to meet the differing needs of learners, allowing them to gain competency at their own pace. Research is needed to understand the effectiveness of the many products being developed and made available to schools. We assessed six mathematics technology products in a pilot with 8,000 secondary students, and analyzed data for two products already in use in the state by close to 18,000 students to determine effects on student’s interest, engagement and understanding in mathematics.
