Abstract: Paraprofessionals are a vital part of the American education system, acting as cultural and linguistic liaisons between English language learners and the schools they attend. However, paraprofessionals are generally paid an hourly wage for their work during school hours which does not include a plethora of training and skill-building time. Paraprofessionals need to be trained in areas that are pertinent to all schools and in all grades. Due to the overwhelming presence of technology in society today, it is imperative that all educators become proficient in using basic forms of technology. Twenty-seven paraprofessionals, both primary and secondary, from a mid-sized, northern Nevada school district took part in a grant funded paraprofessional professional development program for those working with English Language Learners during the 2013-2014 and 2014-2015 academic years.
