Abstract: How does on-going, job embedded professional learning (Friesen & Clifford, 2002) assist teachers to move towards more student directed inquiries? How do you nurture, document and report the learning growth of young children? What constitutes evidence of intellectual, social, and emotional development? How do you begin to capture such evidence? How can you provide parents with the proof and assurance that they require to know that their children are indeed acquiring the competencies and dispositions that will enable them to thrive as learners? How does technology enhance, support and shift teaching practice in an Early Learning setting? The researchers and professional mentors from Galileo Educational Network put great thought and intention into guiding the experiences of children; extending learning and helping them make meaning of their world. In this interactive session participants will explore how bringing play, assessment and technology can come alive in Early Learning.
