This session will present research and applications of social media as both a topic and medium to increase interaction and active learning in fully online instructional technology graduate courses. Educational uses of social media, including use of blogs, wikis, Facebook, Twitter, web 2.0 tools, discussion boards, and synchronous webinars will be considered for developing a learning community to facilitate student-to-student, student-to-instructor interactions and uses in k-12 classrooms..
