Learning Management System and their effect on Students Creativity
Abstract: The purpose of this study was to investigate whether Learning Management Systems (LMS) used in higher education can promote students’ creativity. Creativity was measured using the Consensual Assessment Technique (CAT). This technique is a measurement tool for creativity research in which appropriate experts evaluate creative products [18]. It is the most widely used approach to measure creativity in real life events [20]. The sample in this study were 31 first year undergraduate students. Participants were divided into two groups: an experimental group consisting of 15 students and a control group with 16 students. Both quantitative and qualitative data were gathered. Data was analyzed with SPS package, using descriptive statistics, a t-test and a Kendalls W test. The results indicated that the experimental group scored higher in creativity than the control group at a statistically significant level (p<0.01), and judges were in agreement on their scores at (p<0.05).
